About the Scholarship

This $5,000 award is given to honor three former enslaved women knowns as the Mothers of Gynecology. The award will be given to one (1) African-American woman who is a known descendant of American slaves, and is enrolled in an accredited US medical school program. Finalists will be interviewed by Dr. Thornton. Eligibility Criteria
