About the Scholarship
This award is given by the organization Southern Education Board and was started in 1948 for recognizing the link between education and economic vitality. This foundation headquarter is in Atlanta. The foundation gives support for the childhood study to PhD level study. This award is given for the student who is pursuing a PhD in medical. This scholarship provides much support for selected candidates, including financial assistance, academic/research funding.

Candidate can apply through online on the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) website.
Candidate has to submit a letter of interest that includes the applicant's teaching and mentioning the career goals.
Candidate has to submit three recommendation letters and transcripts for all educational institutions attended; evidence of acceptance to a PhD program.
Candidate has to submit a proof of residency and citizenship.
Candidate has to produce their FAFSA certificate.
Candidate has to produce their academic scorecard.
Candidate has to produce their ACT/SAT scorecard.
Award amount for the scholarship:
The award amount for this scholarship is $20,000 per year.
This scholarship is non-renewable.
The number of award per year is 80.

An applicant must be a minority, legal resident of participating SREB state.
A student must be an officially recognized US citizen who is enrolled in any Ph.D. program.
