About the Scholarship

Annie S. Alexander Memorial Scholarship is licensed and is sponsored by the Winston-Salem Foundation. The foundation was established in the year 1919, to inspire giving and link resources to action, strengthening Forsyth County. 

Annie S. Alexander Memorial Scholarship was started in the year 2009 by Dr. Donna Alexander, in memory of Annie S. Alexander to provide scholarships to students pursuing their education in the nursing major. The main motive behind this scholarship fund is to support students with all the financial assistance needed to pay for their education.


Application Process

  • The student must first register their account with his/her email address and password to move further with their application process.

  • Students must submit their high school grade transcript or most recent current official transcripts to prove an organization that a student has a good academic background to receive the award amount.

  • A copy of a letter of acceptance to the nursing program must have been submitted.

  • A copy of his/her parents' tax returns must have been sent to the organization along with the online application form.

  • The understudies applying for this award must also fill up and present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine the financial position of a student's family to pay for their education.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship provides $1800 annually which is non-renewable, scholarships may be used to pay for tuition, fees, room, board, and other education expenses.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year based on the students meeting their requirements.


Deadline Information

All the necessary documents and application forms must be sent to the concerned department of the organization on or before April 01, 2020, to be eligible to receive the scholarship fund. A student should keep in that any application received post April 1 will be disqualified.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a graduating high school senior, as a traditional college student or an adult senior.

  • A student must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Nursing.

  • Candidates must be good at their academics and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.

  • The applicant must be a resident of Forsyth County, North Carolina and demonstrate the need for financial assistance.
