About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the American Indian College Fund. They invest in native students and tribal college education to transform lives and communities. They provide scholarships, programming to improve Native American student access to higher education, and the support and tools for them to succeed once they're there. They determine student eligibility and award the scholarship.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant must complete the application which can be found on the American Indian College Fund site. Only one application is needed to apply for all the eligible scholarships.

  • A student must also fill in their FAFSA application form to determine the financial position of a student and their family.

  • Along with the application, the application should submit academic transcripts/GED scorecards to prove their excellence in academics.

  • Additionally, a student must also provide a digital photo, proof of tribal affiliation, and financial needs Analysis form.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $1,000 yearly and is non-renewable.

  • The number of awards offered varies every year and depends on the applications received.


Deadline Information

All the documents and applications must be submitted to the institution no later than May 31 to be eligible for the scholarship.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must have a minimum of 2 GPA out of 4 to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

  • The applicant must be a resident of Oklahoma and be enrolled member or descendant of an Oklahoma tribe.

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must provide records to prove their citizenship in the United States.
