About the Scholarship

The BECU Foundation scholarship was started in the year 1995 by BECU to encourage and administer contributions for educational scholarships. The main motive of this scholarship is to encourage and administer the students to pursue higher academic studies. The scholarship recognizes and promotes service in the community, as well as leadership and academic potential.

The BECU Foundation is looking for candidates who embody the people-helping-people philosophy by playing an active role in giving back to their community, whether through volunteering or through other meaningful contributions of time, effort, and care. Scholarships are awarded based on community and school service, leadership potential, academic achievement, and the applicant's passion for helping others.
