About the Scholarship

Bucknell University funds this scholarship to students who major in mathematics with exceptional academic performance and excellent test scores. A limited number of Mathematics Scholar awards are given in order to establish a core group of students who shows interest in creative learning, problem-solving and student research in mathematics at Bucknell.

A student can make use of scholarship funds to pay for almost all their educational expenses. But for that, a student must demonstrate the need for financial assistance. A student will get the award every year for an academic term if and only if he/she maintains satisfactory academic results.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • In order to apply for this award, an applicant must fill out the FAFSA application form. By this FAFSA form, the EFC will be calculated that determines the financial position of his/her family to pay for education. In addition to that, A student must complete the College Scholarship Service(CSS) Profile to apply for this scholarship award.

  • To receive the scholarship amount, an applicant must provide their official transcripts and ACT/SAT scorecards to prove their excellence in academics.

  • A student must submit signed copy of all pages and schedules of parent's prior year federal income tax return, Copies of all parents W-2 and 1099 forms, Signed copy of all schedules of student's most recent federal income tax return, Entrance Loan Counseling for the Federal Direct Loan, and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Loan program.


Award Amount and Deadline

The Bucknell University financial aid department is offering $10,000 per annum to the applicants. The awards are renewable throughout the student's academic study and totally of 5 awards are offered every year.

All the necessary documents and filled applications must be submitted to the financial aid department on or before 15th January 2020. All applicants must apply to this fund before the given deadline date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • A student should have good academic performance.

  • Students must major in mathematics.

  • A student should maintain an overall grade point average of 3.5.

  • An Applicant must remain in good social standing at Bucknell and continue to fulfill the responsibilities agreed upon with the Mathematics Scholars program coordinator.
