About the Scholarship

The Cal Grant A award is a state grant program that is overviewed, organized and supported by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), which helps the low and middle-income students to pay their tuition fees.

The Cal Grant B Entitlement Award has much lower income and asset ceilings as compared to the Cal Grant A Entitlement Award and has its own specific benefits.

The applicants applying for the Cal Grant B Entitlement Award are eligible to receive the tuition portion of the Cal Grant B award to cover the mandatory tuition fee as well as the supplemental grant.


How to Apply?

  • The applicant must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be found online on the official website of FAFSA.

  • The applicant's FAFSA must be completed and filed with the federal processor by March 2 of the academic year.

  • The applicant needs to submit additional forms or supplemental information, as requested by each participating college or university before scholarship eligibility can be determined for the applicant.

  • The applicant needs to contact their institution for additional details and also the scorecards of grade point average (GPA) with the California Student Aid Commission by no later than the given deadline date.


Scholarship Amount

The Cal Grant B Entitlement Award provides the scholarship amount of $1473 to its eligible applicants.


Deadline Information

The Deadline date for The Cal Grant A award scholarship is on 2nd March 2020.

The applicants are required to submit all official transcripts on or before the mentioned date.

 


Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply for the Cal Grant B Entitlement Award are:

  • The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  • The applicant must have graduated from high school in 2000-01.
  • The applicant must be a U.S. student.
  • The applicant must graduate from high school with a minimum high school grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

  • The applicant must have a minimum financial need of $700 and have a family income and assets below the established ceilings.
