Comcast Leaders and Achievers 2026: Application Outlook

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program awards $2,500 (one-time) and the Founder's Scholarship $10,000 (renewable up to 4 years) to high school seniors who demonstrate community service, academic excellence, and leadership. In 2026, Comcast distributes approximately $2.4 million annually across 950+ recipients. The program is administered by the National Hispanic Institute and is open to U.S. residents in Comcast service areas, which covers most of the eastern U.S. and several major Western metros.

2026 Application Strategy

Applications typically open in October 2026 through your high school counselor (not directly online). The school nominates the candidates — so the first step is making yourself visible to your counselor in your first semester of senior year. The selection rubric weights community service significantly: 200+ documented hours of consistent involvement (one or two organizations) beats 500 sporadic hours across many. The recommendation letter from your school counselor is the highest-leverage component of the application.

Why Comcast Leaders and Achievers Matters in 2026

The Founder's Scholarship is the higher-prestige tier ($10K renewable = $40K total) and is awarded to one student per region (~12 nationally). Recipients receive paid internship opportunities at Comcast NBCUniversal during summers — a real career pipeline. Beyond the funding, the program signals to college admissions committees a track record of recognized leadership, which is especially useful for students applying to selective universities where leadership is heavily weighted.
