About the Scholarship

This scholarship is established by Dr. and Mrs.Charles Seward in 1989. This was started for highschools seniors who are from the northern 26 countries of the Texas Panhandle and preparing themselves to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. But preference will be  always given to them who have resident in America.

Requirements for this scholarship:

  • The students who are applying for this scholarship must have a 2.5 or more GPA in college.

  • Must be a student of Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University with own choice major

  • Should be a part-time employee.

  • Must be a full-time student in college

Eligibility for Scholarship:

Candidate must be a graduating senior of 26 northern countries of the Texas Panhandle.

Must be a part-time employee while pursuing college. Should Submit a copy of the candidate's Bureau of Indian Affairs identification card and answer the additional questions of the application form.

Award Amount of this Scholarship:

The award amount will be $ 500 per each semester for all 8 semesters or 4 years of the academic year. The application will available in AFF( Amarillo Area Foundation general service site.

Deadline For the Scholarship:

The deadline for this scholarship is February 8.

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a graduating senior from any 26 northmost countries of Texas panhandle.
  • A student must be working part-time and should have a plan to work even while they are attending the college or a university.
  • A recipient must demonstrate their works towards community services exhibit leadership and career-oriented mindset.
  • A student must have a grade point average of 2.5 out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
