About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Duquesne University, one of the nation's top Catholic universities founded 140 years ago, is the only Spiritan institution of higher education in the U.S. International students who are accepted to Duquesne qualify for the Libermann Scholarship. This is a merit-based scholarship. The scholarship is based on need and past academic performance.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant must apply for admission to Duquesne University. The admission application can be found on the university website.

  • Along with the application, the applicant must also submit a personal essay of approximately 300 words on the topic listed on the website, official academic transcripts from at least the last four years of education, a completed Mandatory Information Form, recommendation letters and immigration/financial verification documents. 


How much the scholarship award amounts to? 

  • The award amounts between $3,000 to $18,000 per year. It is renewable for four years
  •  The number of awards offered varies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Applicant must be a full-time student.

  • Must attend Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Must demonstrate high academic achievement.
