About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the American Music Therapy Association whose mission is to increase public awareness on the benefits of music therapy services in a rapidly changing world. They're committed to the advancement of education, training, professional standards, credentials, and research in support of the music therapy profession. Judging of the research papers for this competition will be done on factors including originality, clarity of writing, and relevance of content to the music therapy profession.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants should submit an essay on any topic that is relevant to the music therapy profession, that has never been published before.
The paper may be individually or jointly authored and only one paper per entrant is allowed.
The paper can be up to 3000 words and should have a title page, author's name, academic institution, and academic advisor's name.
A completed application, which can be found on the AMTA site, and the research paper should be sent to the email id provided on the site.
Scholarship Amount and Deadline
The award amounts to $500 for 1 deserving student per year and is non-renewable.
All the documents must be submitted to the institution no later than June 19, 2020, to be eligible for the scholarship.
Application judging will be done on the basis of originality, organization, clarity of writing, the relevance of content to the music therapy profession, literature documentation and adherence to the APA style.
An applicant will be judged done by a clinician, an academician, and a non-music therapist in a related field.
