About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Baron & Budd, P.C., one of the largest, oldest and most revered plaintiff's law firms in the nation. The Baron & Budd Mesothelioma Cancer Victims Memorial Scholarship is awarded yearly to first-time college students who share their experiences with cancer. The selection for the grant will be done based on the quality of the submitted written or video essays.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants should submit a video or written essay describing how cancer has impacted their life. The written essay must be an original one with 800 - 1250 words and the video submission must be 2-3 minutes long. The video should also be shared on Youtube, with its link shared with the application.
Two recommendation letters, a photo of the applicant, and proof of enrollment should also be submitted.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $2,500 yearly and is non-renewable.
Two scholarships will be provided yearly.
The applicant must be accepted to a US-based four-year university or college for any field of study
Must be a recently graduated high school senior who is planning to attend college for the first time in the upcoming fall semester
Have been impacted by cancer either through a personal diagnosis or the diagnosis of a family member or loved one.
