About the Scholarship
FLAG Flag Football Scholarship is authorized by Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The association is an altruistic association committed to advancing and teaching the general population about the game of banner football in the more prominent Boston territory particularly to people or gatherings who are customarily under-spoke to including individuals from the gay, lesbian, swinger and transgender network and expanding assorted variety and resilience inside sports.
What are the basic requirements needed to apply for this scholarship?
Students must submit an essay not more than 500 words describing their commitment to making school or community sports safer for LGBTQ student-athletes.
Applicants must have filled their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to receive this award.
An official transcript must be submitted and must demonstrate financial need.
FLAG Flag Football Scholarship award amounts to
This scholarship will be providing up to $5,000 to a graduating Massachusetts high school student or students who will be attending a two- or four-year college or a post-high school career school in the 2019-2020 academic year.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidates based on their academic progress and meeting their eligibility.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has made high school and or community sports programs safer for, and more inclusive of, LGBTQ student-athletes.
The applications are to be submitted by the end of February 22, 2020. Students are informed to submit the scholarship application and other requirements before the due date. The applications are available on the Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) website.
