About the Scholarship
Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship is produced by the Archaeological Institute of America. A non-profit organization that was found in the year 1879.
The AIA promotes archaeological inquiry and public understanding of the material record of the human past to foster an appreciation of diverse cultures and shared humanity.
Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship was started to support an individual project of a scholarly nature, related to Aegean Bronze Age Archaeology. The support will be given to those students whose project requires travel to the Mediterranean for the purpose stated above
What is the application procedure?
- A student must first fill in their FAFSA application form to determine what scholarship award they are eligible for.
A reference letter must be submitted by the students applying for this scholarship.
A current official transcript must be submitted to prove the organization that their academics records are on par to be eligible for the scholarship.
Students must submit a project proposal that includes a proposal section, a bibliography section, an itinerary section, and a budget section.
Award Amount and Deadline
This scholarship award amounts to $5000 annually for one deserving candidate and the award is non-renewable.
The applications are to be presented to the financial aid department of the organization on or before the end of November 01, 2020. Any application sent post-November will be rejected. So, a student is advised to keep track of the deadline and send the required documents in advance.
Applicants must be U.S citizens who is actively pursuing an advanced degree in a recognized institution.
A student must be pursuing a degree in the Archaeology major.
If a student is an international student, he/she must provide relevant documents and prove they are an eligible non-US citizens to receive scholarship.
