About the Scholarship

The Helen M. Clymer Scholarship is awarded to the single mothers who are residents of Berks County and pursuing their academic education at a two-year or four-year college in Berks Country. The scholarship is provided to assist the single mother who is guarding one or more natural children. In addition to that one or more children of a mother should be 17 years old or younger in order to receive this scholarship fund. 


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • In order to apply for this scholarship, an applicant must create an account and sign up for that to receive a scholarship application.

  • A recipient must provide the names and birthdates of their children.

  • Applicant must provide the most recent high school transcript, or if you are a college student, attach the most recent official college transcript.

  • An applicant must provide a letter of recommendation from a professor or teacher.

  • In addition to that, an applicant must write an essay that must include your career goals, and how you qualified for this scholarship award. An essay must be written within 250 to 500 words.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship award varies year to year, one or more awards offered annually.

Applicants can submit the scholarship application from 15th January to March 15th, 2019.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Scholarship to the students for single mothers who are furthering their education.

  • Berks County Community Foundation employees, board members and/or committee members are not eligible.
