About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the National Council of Jewish Women - Los Angeles Section (NCJW/LA), founded by women who were committed to bringing about social and political change to improve the quality for women, children, and families. They've always been a powerful catalyst for social change. This scholarship is awarded to a woman or man who is enrolled or accepted to a degree program in nursing. Applicants are also eligible for the Inger Lawrence Bauer award.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the National Council of Jewish Women site. Each application can be used to apply for up to two awards.

  • In addition to this, an applicant must also fill their FAFSA application form that is used to determine the financial position of a student and their family.

  • Along with the application, the applicant should submit an essay, a personal statement, two recommendation letters, and official academic transcripts to prove their academic excellence.


Award Amount and Deadline

  • The award amounts to $2,000 for two students per year and is non-renewable.

All the required documents must be submitted online no later than November 01, 2019 to be eligible for the scholarship. A student can visit the official website for any further details about the scholarship and application form.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an undergraduate student or graduate student.

  • Applicant must attend a university, a four-year college or two-year college.

  • The applicant must be a US citizen who is in their full-time or a part-time course.

  • The applicant must not be attending high school currently.
