About the Scholarship
This program is sponsored by the Kaplan Education Foundation that focuses on completely destroying the barriers to a student's education by guiding them in every step to help an individual achieve their educational goals.
The main aim of this Scholarship program is to help high-achieving community college students of colour transfer to top colleges and universities to complete their bachelor's degrees in New York.
How to Apply for This Scholarship?
A student must apply to the scholarship by fill up an application form on the official website and submit it before the deadline with all the supporting documents.
It is mandatory for a student to provide a personal statement and short answer essay.
A student must submit 2 reference letters, one is academic and the other one is a professional letter.
In addition to this, a student must submit the transcripts from all the institutions attended with Student Academic Report.
Award Amount and Deadline
The amount awarded for this scholarship is $3,000 annually for those who are pursuing associate degrees and bachelor's degrees. 7 awards given to students in total annually. The amount of scholarship awarded is subject to the funds' availability and the number of applications received.
All the documents must be submitted no later than May 13.
An applicant must be a U.S permanent citizen who attends school in the New York area.
A student should have a grade point average of 3.5 or more out of 4 to be eligible for this scholarship.
In addition to this, a student must be enrolled in any UG degree and completed 30 credits.
