About the Scholarship

The Lannan Scholarship was established in the year 1989 by the Lannan Foundation to appreciate the excellent writers of English Literacy. The award recognizes the writers who have made excellent work in the English Language Literature. The writers selected for a scholarship are recommended to the foundation by a network of writers, literary scholars, publishers, and editors. The selected candidates are sent to different locations and they are served independently. The final selection is made by the Foundation's Literary Committee. Through this scholarship award, the foundation encourages to develop English Literacy.

What is the Total Amount Awarded?

A scholarship awards a totally of $3000 annually to any number of applicants. The awards are non-renewable.

An applicant needs to apply for this scholarship before May 31st.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Lannan Scholarship is available to Native American/Alaska Native undergraduate students at a tribal college or university.

  • Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship and must have enrolled in any program.
