About the Scholarship

Leslie Andree Hanna Medical Scholarship is accredited and is produced by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The organization was started in the year 1890 as a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Leslie Andree Hanna Medical Scholarship provides financial assistance to a deserving female student who is a US citizen attending medical school to pay for their education easily.

What is the application process?

  • Candidates must provide a personal statement of 1000 words or less describing their career objectives and academic goals.

  • A recent copy of your official high school transcript must be submitted to demonstrate the organization that you are academically good to receive the scholarship award.

  • Students must demonstrate financial need to meet the eligibility criteria.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form to determine his/her family's financial position to pay for their education.

Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship provides $5000 each year which is non-renewable but the recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year but is not guaranteed the award.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and students applying.


The applications are to be presented to the concerned department on or before the end of February 10, 2020.

Students have to keep track of the deadline and submit the documents in advance to avoid their application being getting rejected.

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a female student and a legally recognized citizen of the U.S.

  • Must be a deserving student attending medical school.

  • A student with good academic progress with a minimum GPA of 3.25 or above will be considered for the scholarship.
