About the Scholarship

Louisiana Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Honors Award is awarded by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance, an educational organization that provides assistance to the individuals that require financial assistance in order to gain access to a college education.

TOPS Honors awards are provided to Louisiana public college or university or an accredited Louisiana independent college or university. 


How to apply for this scholarship

The documents required to be submitted to be eligible for the Louisiana Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Honors Award are:

  • A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be found online on the official website of FAFSA must be submitted to determine if a student's family is capable of paying student's tuition fees.

  • A completed application, which can be found online on the official website of the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance, in case the applicant is ineligible to receive federal grants.

  • Proof of the applicant's financial standing and requirement is needed.


Scholarship Amount

  • This scholarship award varies annually and sponsored award is non-renewable.

  • The scholarship award covers tuition and other educational expenses.

  • The total number of awards offered through this scholarship depends upon the availability of funds and student's eligibility.


Deadline Information

All the necessary documents along with the application form must be sent to the respective department on or before the end of July 01, 2020.


Eligibility Criteria

The candidate applying for the Louisiana Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Honors Award must -

  • A candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

  • An applicant must be graduating from a Louisiana high school.

  • A candidate must be exceptional at their academics and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

  • A student must have an ACT score of 27 or higher or the SAT equivalent.
