About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, a tax-exempt organization that helps individuals, families, businesses, and agencies support charitable causes throughout  Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. Through their Community Grants Program, nonprofit organizations can apply for financial support to continue to do the work that enhances our communities. This grant was established in 2017 to help the students who are unable to afford college or higher education. The grant candidate selection will be based on factors including, academic performance, and financial need.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • Interested applicants must first create an account on the Community Foundation of NCW online site and complete the eligibility quiz. Only then applicants will be able to access the individual applications for any eligible scholarships.

  • Along with the application, the applicants should submit their academic transcripts, EFC (expected family contribution) from their SAR (Student Aid Report), two reference contacts information, and FAFSA.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $1,000 yearly and is renewable for up to four years

  • One scholarship will be provided per year.


Deadline Information

The deadline date is set for March 1


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from any Washington State high school (homeschooled students are ineligible) OR non-traditional student returning to school after time in the workforce or raising children

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Plans to enroll in any higher education program within Washington State

  • Preference is given to those students participating in musical programs (through school, college, or community programs)

  • Must be a resident of Washington State.
