About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the South Dakota Board of Regents. The Marlin Scarborough Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Marlin Scarborough who was the president of the South Dakota Board of Regents. It's given for a student who is a junior at a South Dakota public university at the time of funding. The selection of the student will be based on academic performance and leadership potential.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Fill up the Scarborough Scholarship Application form which can be found on the SDBOR site
Along with the application form, the applicant must submit an essay explaining career plans and educational interests, and a copy of the applicant's gpa result.
Submit the form and the required documents to the Financial Aid Office of your university
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $1,500 per year and is non-renewable.
One award is offered per year.
The deadline date is set for February 01, 2020
An applicant must be a resident of South Dakota from any public university in the same region.
Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
A student must be of junior standing in their public university in South Dakota at the time of receiving the amount.
