About the Scholarship

The Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship is organized by the Montana University System, comprising of sixteen public universities and colleges. It is an educational system that oversees the colleges and universities falling under it through various activities, procedures, and provisions, including providing scholarships.

Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship evaluates is applicants on the basis of several factors, including their average marks, SAT/ACT scores, etc.

The results of the scholarship will be announced by April.


How to Apply?

The students are expected to submit the following documents in order to apply for the Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship:

  • The student's completed application, available online on the official website of Montana University System (MUS), after completing the online registration to create an account
  • The student's SAT/ACT scores with proof
  • The student's school counselor's verification on the online application
  • The student's official transcript from their high school
  • The student's acceptance letter by the academic institution

All of the documents need to be submitted online on or before the deadline date.


Scholarship Amount

The Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship awards monetary rewards of around $4000 to eligible candidates, annually.

The rewards are renewable for 3 more years and are claimed at the time of the student's admission at an accredited academic institution.


Deadline Information

The final date to upload the required documents and apply for the Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship is March 15.


Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Montana University System (MUS) Honor Scholarship, the students must:

  • Apply the year they graduate from a high school accredited by the Montana Board of Public Education
  • Have been enrolled full-time at a high school accredited by the Montana Board of Public Education for at least three years (any combination of three years but must include senior year)
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4 at the end of the 7th semester
  • Be on track to meet the Board of Regents Rigorous Core Requirements by graduation
  • Take the ACT or SAT test by December 31 of the student’s senior year
  • Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of Montana;
  • Be accepted by an eligible campus
