About the Scholarship

In order to increase the number of educated teachers in the areas of the state, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education provides a financial aid program to the students pursuing higher education.

Oklahoma Future Teachers Scholarship Program is awarded to students nominated by the university or college on the basis of cumulative GPA, need and other factors.


Oklahoma Future Teachers Scholarship Program Awards

Students enrolled for higher education in undergraduate or graduate degree level are awarded on the basis of the number of credit hours attended or full-time or half-time enrolment.

  • The undergraduate students are considered full-time if they attend not less than 12 credit hours per semester.

  • Graduate students must be enrolled for 9 or more credit hours per semester to be a full-time student.

  • Full-time enrolment for more than 60 hours receives an amount of $1500 and less than 60 hours, $1000.

  • Part-time enrolment for less than 60 hours receive an amount of $500 and more than 60 hours receive $750.


Oklahoma Future Teachers Scholarship Program Application

The applicants must submit the application along with the required documents to the educational institution enrolled in as the financial aid office of the respective institution selects the recipients of the scholarship awards.

The following are the required documents for the application of the scholarship:

  • A completed application form.

  • High school transcript for freshman students inclusive of the test scores of SAT and ACT.

  • All official transcripts from the institutions before the postsecondary institution enrollment.

  • An essay as per the instructions that are given on the application.

  • The educational institutions decide the recipients of the scholarship and will be notified to the State Regents office.


Oklahoma Future Teachers Scholarship Program Application Deadline

As the applications are directly submitted to the university or college the student is enrolled in. the deadlines may vary according to the institution.

The students are expected to be aware of the important dates and submit the application and the required documents on time without fail.



Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be an Oklahoma resident.

  • The student must be enrolled on the basis of nomination from the college where they have enrolled.

  • The student should have a cumulative GPA that ranks in the top 15% in the graduating batch.

  • The student must have scored in the ACT and SAT that ranks in the top 15 %.

  • The student can be doing the course full-time or part-time.

  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
