About the Scholarship

Bill Fleming founded this scholarship in 1996 to support students studying interior design, fashion, or graphic design.

The scholarship is sponsored by Pride Foundation and is the only LGBTQ+ community foundation with a vision to ensure that people in the communities live safely and openly as a whole. It serves in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington's northwest region.


Application Process

  • It is necessary to submit all applications online.

  • Applicants are expected to obtain a post-secondary education that requires a community college, four-year public or private college or university, certification or degree program, etc.

  • Students are required to bring a transcript if they are selected.

  • Students must be LGBTQ members and allied members.

  • Students are required to apply the following: Contact information for two sources, one should be an educator, mentor or another professional representative with their abilities and potential. 


How much is the Scholarship Amount?

The amount of the monetary award varies, and the Pride Foundation determines it. Stipends offered through the foundation are generally a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. In previous years, the average award amount for each recipient was $4,160. The award is given annually and cannot be renewed.


Deadline

The deadline for the scholarship is Friday, January 10, 2020. Students are required to submit all documents online on the official website.

 

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are required majoring in the interior, fashion, or graphic design.

  • Candidate must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student at the time when applied.

  • Only US citizens can avail the scholarship.

  • Candidates must be a resident of any of the cities such as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.

  • Students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered; LGBT family members; or friends who have strongly supported the LGBT community are given priority.

  • The Scholarship is awarded only to US students.
