About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays, which is the first and largest organization for LGBTQ+ people, their parents and families, and allies. They're committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated. The program is designed to recognize LGBTQ and one straight ally and to contribute toward their continuing education. PFLAG Dayton will award one $2,000 scholarship to an LGBTQ student and one $2,000 scholarship to a straight ally.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants should complete the application which can be found on the PFLAG site.
Along with the application, the applicant must also submit an essay, three reference letters, and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amount could be $1,000 or $2,000 per year and is non-renewable.
Four awards are offered per year.
The deadline date is set for February 8
- These scholarships are offered specially for those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender students and few scholarships to those who proactively support LGBT individuals.
