About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays, which is the first and largest organization for LGBTQ+ people, their parents and families, and allies. They're committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated. The program is designed to recognize LGBTQ and one straight ally and to contribute toward their continuing education. PFLAG Dayton will award one $2,000 scholarship to an LGBTQ student and one $2,000 scholarship to a straight ally. 

 


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • Interested applicants should complete the application which can be found on the PFLAG site.

  • Along with the application, the applicant must also submit an essay, three reference letters, and FAFSA.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amount could be $1,000 or $2,000 per year and is non-renewable.

  • Four awards are offered per year.

The deadline date is set for February 8


Eligibility Criteria

  • These scholarships are offered specially for those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender students and few scholarships to those who proactively support LGBT individuals.
