About the Scholarship

The ROV Student Scholarship is awarded by the Marine Technology Society (MTS), an organization that encourages education, comprehension, and the approach and appeal of marine technology.

The ROV Student Scholarship provides monetary rewards to the individuals who've been enrolled in a full-time marine-related program. The applicants are required a keen interest in ROVs and marine technologies.


How to Apply?

The materials required to apply for the ROV Student Scholarship are as follows:

  • A completed application, which can be found online on the official website of MTS
  • A self-written personal statement of the applying individual
  • A self-written essay on the applicant's fascination towards remote-operated vehicles (ROVs) or its operations under-water
  • A letter of recommendation
  • Three letters of reference for the applicant
  • Official transcript from the applicant's school

The materials must be submitted via an email, on or before the deadline date.


Scholarship Amount

The ROV Student Scholarship provides eight non-renewable monetary rewards amounting to $8000 each, every year. 


Deadline Information

The final date to apply for the ROV Student Scholarship is April 19.


Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the Marine Technology Society membership must:

  • be an international or U.S. high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  • be enrolled or plan to enroll full time.
  • have an interest in ROVs or underwater work which furthers the use of ROVs.
  • have a Marine Technology Society membership, if an undergraduate and graduate student
