Senator Grady and Andrine Smith Hazlewood established this scholarship in 1987 for who are resident at Texas Panhandle.

How to apply for this scholarship?

  • The candidate has to submit their FAFSA certificate

  • The candidate can apply through online application from the Amarillo Area Foundation website

  •  The candidate has to submit his/her proof of U.S. citizenship or residency, official high school and/or college transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, a current IRS Form 1040, and two letters of recommendation for extra benefits 

The amount awarded for this Scholarship:

  • The candidate can find the application from the Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF) General Scholarship Application online at aaf.spectrumportal.net

  • This scholarship is provided to the student depends on the annual income of the candidate and number of award provided count is varies

  • The award amount of this scholarship is $1000 for 8 semesters.

  • This scholarship selection procedure held by AFF.

The deadline for the application 8th of February

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 countries of the Texas Panhandle.

  • A student must exhibit their needs for financial assistance.

  • The grade point average of 3.2 out of 4 or 80% must be maintained to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • Must attend Amarillo College, Texas Tech University, or A&M University in any major.
