What is Mississippi Scholarship?

Mississippi scholarship is a Scholarship given to the student residents of Mississippi, who mostly belong to the state of Mississippi are known as Mississippi students. This is an initiative by the state to encourage students of Mississippi to pursue higher education by availing these college scholarships.

Mississippi offers 23 public and nine private institutions. Among these, the top universities and colleges are Alcorn State University, Rust College, Jackson State University, William Carey University, the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), and the Mississippi State University (MSU). According to the U.S. News ranked the University of Mississippi holds 135th position in the list of top colleges in the U.S.

  • One should excel academically with a cumulative GPA above 2.5 or Show academic achievement with a minimum "B" average.

  • One should live in Biloxi, D'Iberville, Woolmarket, Ocean Springs, St. Martin, or Vancleave or one should be a resident in Mississippi's DeSoto County for 12+ months.

  • One should graduate from a public or private Mississippi high school or should have entered an accredited senior or junior college in Mississippi.

  • One should score at least 18 on the ACT or 950 on the SAT(might vary for different scholarships).

  • One should be accepted to a four-year college in Mississippi Or attend any accredited two- or four-year college in Mississippi.

  • One should be related to the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation members.
