About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Maine Community Foundation, an organization that works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for the residents of Maine. They offer a range of giving options tailored to fit each donor's charitable objectives. This scholarship is for female graduating seniors of Scarborough High School, with athletic ability or a passion for a non-competitive sport.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant must complete the application, which can be obtained by contacting the Scarborough High School guidance office.
Along with the application, the applicant should also submit a personal statement of 500 words describing her aspirations
Academic transcripts, copy of college financial aid offer, and FAFSA should also be submitted.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
- The award amounts up to $500 per year and is non-renewable.
- One award is offered per year.
The deadline date is set for April 15
This scholarship is provided to the graduating female seniors of Scarborough High School in memory of Stephanie Bernath, an alumna who died in a car accident in 1999.
Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 84/100 to be eligible for the scholarship.
An applicant has to demonstrate athletic ability and/or a passion for a non-competitive sport, such as mountain climbing or horseback riding and a demonstrated interest in community service.
