About the Scholarship

Stephen T. Kugle Scholarship is accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). ASME is a non-benefit association found in 1880, the association advances the art, science & practice of multidisciplinary engineering and partnered sciences around the world. Stephen T. Kugle Scholarship was set up in 2003 by the Kugle family in memory of Dr. Stephen T. Kugle. 


What are the basic requirements needed to apply for this scholarship?

  • A maximum of two letters of recommendation from faculty members, professors, or supervising engineers who can comment on his/her character.

  • Students applying for this scholarship must have been submitted their FAFSA application to receive this grant.

  • Students must submit an official transcript from all past engineering study and must demonstrate financial need to meet the eligibility.

 

Stephen T. Kugle Scholarship amounts to

  • This scholarship provides $3000 annually which is nonrenewable, but students can reapply every year. 

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and student's eligibility.

  • The scholarships are given only for study in the junior or senior year of study.

 

Deadline information

The applications are to be submitted by the end of March 01, 2020. All students are informed to submit th scholarship application and other required application before the due date to meet the eligibility. applications and othe related information are available on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be an American Society of Mechanical Engineers student member in good standing and U.S. citizen by birth.

  • The applicant should have a minimum of 3.0-grade point average out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • Students from the University of Texas at Arlington are not eligible.
