About the Scholarship
The David Womack Memorial West Virginia LGBT Scholarship is licensed by The Ian Thom Foundation. The Ian Thom Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity framed by Ian C. Gibson-Smith and Thomas G. The Ian Thom Foundation is focused on the help and improvement of GLBT life and rights, expressions of the human experience and dynamic causes through strategic gifts.
The David Womack Memorial West Virginia LGBT Scholarship is accessible to any gay or lesbian undergrad understudy who is an occupant from the state of Alabama. The main motive behind this award amount is to provide equal opportunities to everyone in this society.
How to apply for this award amount?
The students applying for this grant must complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application first to determine how much their family can pay for their education.
An essay and proof of college attendance/acceptance is required to be submitted by applicants.
An essay should be no more than five pages and discuss the applicant's background, educational history, goals for the future and why the applicant believes he or she should receive the scholarship.
This scholarship provides $1000 annually and is non-renewable once issued.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one deserving candidate each year.
All the necessary documents must be submitted to the concerned department no later than June 30, 2020, to be eligible to receive the scholarship amount. A student can contact the support department anytime incase of any issue with filling an application.
An applicant must be a gay or lesbian who is residing in West Virginia and a legally recognized citizen of the United States.
The student must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in an accredited college or a university.
