About the Scholarship

The Scholarship is awarded by Pride Foundation with a view to fuel a transformational movement to advance equity and justice for LGBTQ identified people across Northwest. It was founded in the year 2005 by Robert Roblee for African American LGBTQ community leaders and role models.


Application Process

  • The candidates are required to submit only one application to be considered for all Pride Foundation Scholarships.

  • Candidates are required to fill the application form available online on the official website.

  • Candidates are required to submit contact information of two references who are familiar with their capabilities and potential for success in education and community.

  • Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education including community or four-year public or private college, certificate and technical programs.

  • High school freshman, sophomores, or junior candidates are not eligible for the scholarship.


Scholarship amount

The amount of monetary reward varies and is determined by the provider of the scholarship. Stipends given through the foundation are usually a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. Last year, the average amount of awards per recipient was over $4,100. The award is given every year and is non-renewable.


Deadline Information

The deadline is set for Friday, January 10, 2020

The application, along with the other requirements should be submitted before the deadline due date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Only those candidates can apply for the scholarship who are undergraduate or graduate at the time of application.

  • Candidates are should be US citizen or legal permanent resident.

  • Candiates must be identified as lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer.

  • Applicants of the scholarship must reside in one of the states such as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.

  • This scholarship is only applicable to US students.

  • Candidates must be an African-American student.
