About the Scholarship

The Union Plus Scholarship Program is organized by Union Plus, a nonprofit institution that provides benefits and subsidies to the members of a union. The goal of this institution is to provide their products and services to the working-class population, for the betterment of their living standards.

The Union Plus Scholarship Program awards its applicants on the basis of several factors, namely educational qualifications, general knowledge, financial requirements, hard work, etc.

The winners of the scholarship will be informed in July.

How to Apply?

The requirements to be considered for the Union Plus Scholarship Program are:

  • A candidate must first fill their online application that can be found on the official website of the scholarship.

  • A sealed letter of recommendation from a certified individual with their signature must be submitted.

  • The candidate's self-written essay on their future-goals in the light of union movement, and describing their need for the scholarship in 500 words

  • In addition, an application must also provide a union verification certificate, signed by a union officer.

The applications are expected to be submitted on or before the deadline date.

Scholarship Amount

The monetary award for the Union Plus Scholarship Program stretches from $500 - $4000 every academic year.

The awards are non-renewable and are provided to around 100 deserving candidates.

Deadline Information

All the documents mentioned above must be sent to the concerned department on or before the end of January 31, 2020.

Students are advised to keep track of the deadline to send their application form before the deadline to avoid getting disqualified.

Eligibility Criteria

The Union Plus Scholarship Program applicants must follow the following eligibility criteria for the to be considered:

  • The candidate must be a member, spouse of a member, or dependent child of a member in a union that is participating in any Union Plus program. The member must have a one-year or more continuous good membership standing.

  • The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-US citizen to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • The candidate must be accepted into an accredited college, university, community college, or technical or trade school to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
