About the Scholarship

The VA Two-Year College Transfer Grant Program was established in the year 2007, it provides financial assistance to the students to complete an associate degree at a Virginia public two-year college before transferring to a four-year college or university at Virginia. The fund amount reduces the overall expense of completing a student's bachelor’s degree. A student must have a financial burden with respect to pursuing an academic study.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • An applicant must fill and submit the FAFSA application form which demonstrates the financial position of his/her family to pay for the education.

  • The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is calculated by the U.S. Department of Education using the information provided on the FAFSA, based on that the financial assistance will be provided to students.

  • In addition to that, a student must provide official documents indicating participation in Virginia a four-year institution.

  • And also, an applicant needs to submit the final academic transcript to the four-year institution as soon as the associate degree is completed.


Award Amount and Deadline

The Community is providing up to $2000 to all the deserving candidates. Priority will be given to the applicants who demonstrate the need for financial assistance.

All applicants need to apply for this scholarship and submit all the documents no later than March 1st.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a first-time entering freshman at any institution not before 2007.

  • A student must have received an associate degree at a Virginia two-year public institution.

  • A student must be an undergraduate.

  • The recipient must have an EFC of $12,000 or less.

  • A student should have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 for the associate degree

  • A student should enroll in a full-time degree program and be a United States citizen.
