About the Scholarship

Vermont Dental Hygiene Scholarship is sponsored by the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC). The organization was established in the year 1965 it has helped Vermont students of all ages save, plan, and pay for college or career training.

The foundation was started to create opportunities for all Vermont students, but basically for those of any ages who cannot afford their educational opportunity. This scholarship was established by the members of the Vermont State Dental Society to support and motivate residents of Vermont to enter the field of dental.

How to apply for this scholarship?

  • An applicant must fill and submit a FAFSA application form to receive their SAR and determine the financial position of his/her family.

  • A student must also complete and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application.

  • A letter of recommendation must be submitted by the students to the financial aid division of the institution.

  • An essay must be prepared based on their interest. Additionally, a student must also submit their official transcripts and ACT/SAT scorecards.

Award Amount

  • This scholarship amount varies from $15000 to $17000 annually and is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds but on average, seven awards are offered annually.

Deadline Information

All the applicants must submit all the necessary documents by the end of February 15, 2020. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements before the due date. Applications are available online from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A student should have attended a school approved for federal Title IV funding.

  • An applicant should be enrolled in a dental hygiene professional program.

  • The student should prove the need for financial assistance by providing their SAR to the institution.

  • A recipient must be a legally recognized citizen of the United States or an eligible non-US citizen.
