About the Scholarship

This award is available to college juniors, seniors and/or graduate students who are residents of West Virginia and are enrolled at a West Virginia college or university. Students must pursue a course of study leading to teacher certification at the pre-school, elementary, middle, or secondary level, and agree to teach at the public pre-school, elementary, middle or secondary school level in West Virginia upon graduation. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a resident of West Virginia. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a West Virginia institution of higher education. Must enroll full time. Must pursue a course of study leading to certification as a teacher at the preschool, elementary, middle, or secondary level. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher after successfully completing two years of coursework at an approved institution (Undergraduate students) OR, be graduating in the top 10 percent of his/her college or university graduating class or have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (Graduate students). Must be a U.S. citizen.
