The Kansas State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) is administered by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), Office of Primary Care and Rural Health. It is jointly funded by the KDHE and National Health Service Corps (NHSC). The eligibility requirements and benefits provided under this program are established by federal law authorizing the State Loan Repayment Program.

Student loan repayment is an important phase in which borrowers pay back their debts. Repayment programs have their specific terms and duration. Before opting for a repayment program, it is better to gain an in-depth understanding of how student loan repayment programs work.

The SLRP aims to recruit and retain medical, nursing, dental, and behavioral/mental health care professionals at the Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) sites. In short, if you are a healthcare professional working in Kansas and you need help with the repayment of your loans then this might just be the program for you.
