UW Tacoma is UW's intentional campus for students who don't fit the residential college mold. Half your classmates are working adults. Many are returning to education after life experience. That creates a maturity and practicality in the student body that changes the entire culture for the better.
You're in a city, not isolated on a quad. That means you're already embedded in internships, jobs, and real communities. There's less drinking-as-default-weekend-activity and more people actually thinking about what they're studying. The academics are solid and the cohort is thoughtful.
If you're young and want the residential college experience, this isn't that. But if you're self-directed, working, or returning to education, UW Tacoma gets you a UW degree without pretending you're something you're not.
