It is interesting to note that, every year, around 89% of students at ASUB receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $2,587,329. More information regarding the financial assistance schemes can be accessed on ASUB’s official financial aid page at http://www.asub.edu/financial-aid/. At ASUB, the total percentage of applicants who receive the Federal Grant stands at 56%. On the other hand, 85% of the candidates get the Student Grant, 37% receive the Institution Grant, and 55% get the Pell Grant. Furthermore, the average aid for the Federal Grant receivers is $5,243, and the same stands at $901 for State Grant awardees and $1,712 for Institution Grant recipients. And, for the Pell Grant awardees, the average aid amount is $4,473. The annual family income of a candidate is one of the key factors in determining their total eligibility for financial aid. Alternatively, the candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans, apart from financial grants and scholarship schemes to pay for their studies. But, they should understand that student loans are borrowed at a certain rate of interest, unlike grants and scholarships. Candidates are also required to repay these loans within a given period. At Arkansas State University-Beebe, the percentage of candidates who opt to avail of student loans is around 18%.
