Undergraduate Admission process

Apply

Review the CSUDH.edu Website, and Apply Online at calstate.edu/apply. Initial admissions decisions are based on information students list on Cal State Apply when an application is submitted. Updating academic information after submission is not necessary for CSUDH. After submitting the application online, activate your Campus Account at My.CSUDH.edu and check your To Do List, check your Toro Mail regularly, and meet document deadlines.

Complete the application

Failure to file complete, accurate, and authentic application documents may result in denial of admission, cancellation of registration or academic credit, suspension, or expulsion.

Email Address

Make sure you activate and monitor your ToroMail email account. Important and critical admission information will be sent to this email address. Make sure you review your account regularly and do not block messages from the campus.

Submission of Transcripts

Applicants must submit official transcripts, including all grades for the first semester of the 12th grade, by February 15, 2020. Please make sure that all Fall 2019 coursework is graded before submitting transcripts.

Conditional admits

Conditional Admits must submit official final high school transcripts, showing receipt of the high school diploma.

All Admitted undergraduate students must submit their Intent to Enroll on their Campus Account May 1, 2020. Instructions are provided in the admission letter. Submitting your Intent to Enroll and Registering for New Student Orientation is required for all Fall admitted students. 

Graduate admission process

The admission process follows for Graduate admission is also the same as the undergraduate process. The difference is just some documents and transcripts which are asked by the university.

Official transcripts are required from all previously attended colleges and universities, including the school you are currently attending, whether coursework was completed or not (even if the courses appear on another transcript). This includes transcripts for ESL coursework.

Also, the Baccalaureate degree must be conferred by Summer 2019 for Spring 2020 admission and by Spring 2020 for Fall 2020 admission. The university prefers Electronic Transcripts that can be sent to the CSUDH office of Admissions and Records.

SAT Scores you need to get in

SAT scores help colleges interpret the students' overall academic performance. However, it should be noted that the SAT scores are not one of the mandatory requirements to get admission to the California State University-Dominguez Hills.

ACT Scores you need to get in

ACT scores are believed to make a candidate's application stand out for getting admission to any school or university of their choice. The average GPA that is required to get into the CSUDH is 3.0 out of 4. It is always better to have a point more than what the university expects to easily get in.

The university also consider an applicant if the bachelor’s degree GPA falls slightly below the minimum grade requirement if the cumulative Verbal and Quantitative score on the GRE is high enough to compensate for it.

There are certain requirements to be fulfilled by the students to get admitted in the CSUDH. Before applying for this university applicants must thoroughly go through the requirements checklist and then apply for the enrollment.

Applications to the program are accepted one time each year. Students planning to seek admission should submit all application requirements for both the University and the MSOT program no later than September 15 preceding a spring semester admission to the program. To be eligible to apply, students must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree- A completed and awarded Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Prerequisite Courses- Completed the following prerequisite courses within the last 10 years, minimum 3 semester units each, a minimum of B average in all prerequisite courses, and a minimum of C for each course.

* Combined Human Anatomy and Human Physiology courses are acceptable as long as each is offered with Lab components, total at least 6 semester units, focus on general gross human structures, and taken from an accredited institution.

  • Volunteer Hours and Verification- Completion of 80 hours of documented volunteer experience under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist and proof of volunteer hours. For multiple observation/volunteer sites, submit proof for each site.

  • Letter of Recommendation- 3 letters of recommendation are required out of which one should be from the licensed occupational therapist who supervised the volunteer hours and two from professionals that can attest your ability for graduate coursework and level of professionalism.

  • Basic Computer Skills- including word processing and file management abilities.

There is no application deadline in CSUDH, they have a rolling admission policy which means first come first serve basis of selection. As the university is highly selective for its students, the applicants must apply with all the requirements fulfilled. Applicants who will come first will get a chance to get reviewed on his application and decision of selecting.
