Colorado State University-Global Campus, better known as CSU Global, is an online public university within the Colorado State University System. Established in 2007, the CSU Global headquarters are located in Aurora, Colorado. It was established with a loan of $12 million from the Colorado State University Boards of Governors on August 24, 2007.

The central goal was to meet the educational needs of adult learners in the State of Colorado and beyond by providing high quality online programs. The accreditation happened in the following year after its establishment i.e. Spring 2009 and was legally sanctioned as an independent university.

It was possible when Colorado’s Governor, Bill Ritter, signed Senate Bill 09-086, declaring the establishment of CSU Global as an online university within the Colorado State University System and not simply an extension to the other CSU campuses. On May 16, 2016, the Institutional Actions Council of the Higher Learning Commission granted CSU Global full accreditation through 2025-26.
