Among them are scholarship programs such as Dr. Allen Smith Memorial Scholarship, Edgar G. Garvin Scholarship, Education Foundation Scholarship, and Educational Assistance Commitment Grant. It is interesting to note that, every year, around 75% of students at OULC receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $2,770,301. At OULC, the total percentage of applicants who receive the Federal Grant stands at 40%. On the other hand, 52% of the candidates get the Student Grant, 21% receive the Institution Grant, and 40% get the Pell Grant. As far as the Pell Grant beneficiaries are concerned, the average aid received stands at $3,986. The annual family income of a candidate is one of the key factors in determining their total eligibility for financial aid. Apart from financial grants and scholarships, candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans to fund their education. However, student loans attract a certain rate of interest at which the funds are borrowed. While grants and scholarship schemes do not require repayment, student loans should be repaid by the applicants within a given period. At Ohio University-Lancaster Campus, the percentage of candidates who opt to avail of student loans is around 42%.
