Saybrook University (Saybrook) is a private, not for profit university. Saybrook university’s main campus is located in Oakland, California, USA. Established in 1971, Saybrook aims to provide graduate education and bring about a positive change in individuals and society.

Saybrook University was established to challenge the idea that human beings needed to be broken down into parts and isolated from the rest of the world to be understood. Instead, our founders declared that human beings are complex, and to understand them, one must understand the interconnectivity of everything that they experience. Committed to helping students achieve their full potential, our community is deeply rooted in this humanistic tradition.

Saybrook currently enrolls 619 students in its various degree and certificate programs. The university provides high-quality education and offers an updated curriculum. Various facilities and services at Saybrook include e-library, financial aid and many others, to assist the students in shaping their careers. Saybrook values life and embraces their responsibility to facilitate the potential of every living being to thrive in a just, inclusive, healthy and sustainable environment. The university prides itself in creating risk-taking leaders who challenge assumptions and imagine a new society. Employment opportunities open at Saybrook from time to time, which is regularly updated on their website.

Saybrook University is accredited by the Senior Commission of Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Saybrook participates in a regularly scheduled re-accreditation process conducted by the Senior Commission of WASC. The university reaccredited itself in 2015, with the accreditation process occurring every 10 years. Saybrook received its first accreditation in 1984. The university’s Clinical Psychology program is accredited by the WASC but does not have programmatic accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA). Many of the other programs here have received accreditations from various institutions, more about which you can read on their website.
