With this motto, the University of South Florida Sarasota, Manatee invites you to its application process. 

The admission process begins with a decision to select a major. Once you have done that, you need to fill the online application form and pay a fee of $ 30. The university evaluates the applicants on the basis of their test scores and past academic records.

USFSM Admissions Process

The admission process has the following steps. 

  • View the application submission deadlines to make sure you apply before the deadline.

  • Submit an application at the link above. The application takes about 30 minutes to complete and is used for freshman, transfer, and graduate admissions. You may also save your progress and return to the application at any time in the future.

  • Once you have filled out your personal information and citizenship information, you’ll be asked about your academic interest. Here is where you’ll want to select which semester you are applying for and which campus you’d like to attend (USF Sarasota-Manatee). You can also declare a program of choice if you already know which program you want to begin.

  • At the end of your application, you’ll need to pay the non-refundable $30 (USD) application fee by credit card (Discover, Visa, MasterCard) or E-check.

  • Submit the required materials listed on the Admissions Information pages in the links above.

  • Complete and submit the mandatory Student Immunization and Medical History form.

  • Sign in to OASIS to monitor your admissions status online.

  • Once accepted, you should take a look at our scholarships and financial aid. There are hundreds of scholarships available to USFSM students.

The SAT scores of the applicants are also considered by University of South Florida-Sarasota-Manatee for their admission. The candidates must also understand that the SAT scores are mandatory for them to be considered for admission by the university. The average SAT score of the candidates who get accepted to USFSM is 1225. But, in some cases, those who have a SAT score of 1160 or below may also be given admission to USFSM. As for the ACT scores, an average score of 27 is needed to get accepted to University of South Florida-Sarasota-Manatee. It's worth noting that the composite ACT scores of the accepted applicants often fall in the range of 25-29. To be considered for admission by University of South Florida-Sarasota-Manatee, one needs to have a minimum ACT composite score of 25. Moreover, the submission of ACT scores is mandatory to be considered for admission. Before applying for USFSM, please make sure to check out the admissions requirements which are given below.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must submit the online application form.

  • Applicants must have completed high school education from a recognized school.

  • USFSM requires freshman applicants to submit official results of at least one college entrance exam (SAT or ACT). You must complete a minimum of 18 approved units of high school work in the five core subject areas in addition to three approved academic electives. If you graduated from high school in 2011 or thereafter, you must have completed four units of math—including one course above and beyond Algebra II.

  • Applicants submitting a GED diploma must have a minimum passing score on each section of the test.

  • If you have graduated from high school and obtained 60+ transferable credits. USF considers you an upper-level transfer student. Till 59 score, an applicant is considered for lower-level transfer. 

Graduate Admission Requirements 

  • They need to complete and submit the online application form. 

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognized institute.

  • Applicants need to send their academic documents to the admissions office. 

  • Applicants from countries where English is not the official language, and who have not earned at least a bachelor’s degree in the U.S. from a regionally accredited institution, must also demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

  • Applicants need to have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in one of the following ways:

  1. All completed undergraduate coursework

  2. All completed graduate coursework

USFSM follows a rolling admission process with different admission deadlines for different semesters. 

For graduate applicants

The majority of the universities in the US incentivize students by helping them score university credit through certain courses offered in high school. There are many such programs that are at disposal for the students. Some of the famous ones include AP Credit, CLEP (Credit for Life Experiences), and Dual Enrollment (also known as Dual Credit). However, there is no common policy and instead, colleges follow their own, separate policy regarding these credits.
