Washington Adventist University is a private, Seventh Day Adventist university located in Takoma Park, Maryland. Interestingly, Washington Adventist University has an ethnically diverse student population. At WAU around 45% are Black or African American, 18% belong to Hispanic ethnicity, and 17% belong to an unknown race or ethnicity. And, at the university, around 65% of the students are 24 and under. When it comes to gender distribution at the varsity, around 67% of the students are females and 33% are males. The college has produced several achievers in its many years of existence and some of the notable alumni are H. M. S. Richards, Rachel Roy, Le Roy Froom, and Roscoe Bartlett. The school believes in the all-round growth of the students and therefore, encourages students to take part in several sporting activities, conducted inside the campus. Further, it boasts of a decent sports infrastructure. A total of 180 programs are currently offered by the varsity to the students. It includes both the residential as well as online programs.
