Admission Procedure

Application Requirements for Freshman and Transfer Students

Applicants who are wishing to enroll in Queens University of the Charlotte must follow the steps listed below:

  • Apply Online to be enrolled in the Queens University of Charlotte. Complete and submit the application online.
  • Submit an Official transcript from the graduating high school with a minimum requirement Grade Point Average (GPA). The transcripts can be requested from the high school.
  • Submit an Official transcript for SAT or ACT scores. The school code for SAT and ACT is 5560 and 3148, respectively. The official test scores can be downloaded from the College Board or ACT website.
  • Transcripts are directly sent to the University’s Admissions Office from the issuing institution.

Transfer Students Requirements

  • Transfer Students are required to submit Official Transcripts from each previous institute and submit a Signed Statement of Good Standing form signed by the Dean of Students’ office at the recent previous institute.
  • If less than 24 credit hours are completed, provide an official copy of their SAT or ACT test scores are required.
  • Minimum credit hours of the total credit hours required must be completed at Queens.
  • Maximum Credit transferable from a Two-Year Institution is not more than 60 of the 120 semester hours are required for graduation.
  • Students with completed 60 credit hours at Queens University are eligible for graduation with honours.
  • Cumulative GPA is solely based on work at Queens University.

Nursing Student Requirements

  • A completed undergraduate application before applying to the nursing program.
  • Applicants require 45 semester hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA before applying to the program.
  • Admissions to Queens does not guarantee admission to the nursing major as the major is competitive and selective.

Home Schooled Students

  • Students who have studied a homeschool curriculum must follow the same guideline as freshmen.
  • Registered transcripts of the homeschool program are required.
  • Co-curricular activities, test scores, and writing samples will be considered for enrollment.
  • A personal interview will be scheduled by the Admissions Office if required.

Dual Enrollment Requirements

  • Apply online using the freshman application for dual enrollment program.
  • After Enrollment, the transfer credit evaluation will be done. This evaluation will help the student in a shorter timeframe.

International Students

  • If the Official Transcripts are not in English, the transcripts need to be credential evaluated by a recognized evaluation agency. And a copy of the English translation of the Official Transcripts.
  • International students must prove their English Proficiency.  English proficiency can be proved by TOEFL, IELTS or SAT, ACT results.
  • A certified financial statement with a number of funds available for their education.
  • An essay on why the student would like to attend Queens and to demonstrate their ability to write and communicate in the English language.
  • Application fees of $1000 are to be paid to the University. This fee is non-refundable and a deposit for enrollment.
  • Full acceptance into the University is required before an I-20 form will be issued.

Accelerated Admissions

  • Students with superior academic records can apply for enrollment during their junior year in high school.
  • The applicants must submit transcripts, recommendations, and SAT/ACT scores.
  • Schedule a personal interview with an admissions counsellor.
  • School authorities will grant a high school diploma after a year of college work, this agreement is between the students and school local authorities.
  • A student has to obtain a high school equivalent certificate by an examination.

NOTE: For students who plan to enroll in graduate school or professional study, accelerated admissions is a way to shorten the time.
