About the Scholarship

Albert R. Ochoa Scholarship is accredited by the Austin Community Foundation. This scholarship is established in 1997 in memory of Coach Ochoa and his career as the beloved tennis coach at Anderson High School and art teacher at Burnet Junior High School.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicants have to submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application certificate to receive this award.

  • The students have to submit their college transcription certificate along with their academic scorecard.

  • A letter of recommendation must be submitted by the students from a tennis coach or art teacher.

  • The applicants have to submit their CAT/SAT scorecard.

  • The applicants have to submit an essay about themselves, career planning, and interest.

 

The awarded amount of the scholarship:

  • This scholarship provides $1000 annually to the selected students and is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one student each year and is based on the students performing well in their academics.

 

Deadline information

The application is to be submitted by the end of April 08, 2020. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements before the due date. Eligibility Criteria

Must attend a high school in the Austin Independent School District.

Must be a graduating high school senior.

Must have an interest in tennis or art.

The applicant must be a U.S. student.
