About the Scholarship

This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students (including entering freshmen) who are legally blind. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher, unless extenuating circumstances exist. Application requirements for the American Council of the Blind Scholarship Program are:Application form Personal statement Cert. of legal blindness Accept. proof (if req.) Official Transcript Recommendation letters (2)

Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Must be an entering college freshman or a current undergraduate or graduate student. Must be legally blind. An individual who is legally blind is one who cannot see better than 20/200 in the best eye with glasses or contact lenses or whose visual field in the best eye is 20 degrees or less at the widest diameter with glasses or contact lenses.
