Anthony A. Welmas Scholarship is licensed by American Indian College Fund. The establishment was begun in the year 1989, it was framed with the point of putting resources into Native understudies and innate school instruction to change lives and networks.
The Anthony A. Welmas Scholarship is available to Native American / Alaska Native students who are enrolled full - time at a tribal college or university.
What are the basic requirements needed to apply for this scholarship?
The first step towards obtaining the scholarship amount is by filling the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application that determine the financial position of a student's family.
Applicants must upload a copy of proof of tribal enrollment (ID or CIB) or descendency by submitting their parent’s or grandparent’s proof of tribal enrollment along with birth certificates.
Candidates must submit their current official high school transcript or GED scores to prove their excellence in academics.
Scholarship Award Amounts
This scholarship award amounts to $1000 annually and is non-renewable.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and total number of deserving students.
The applications are to be submitted by the students to the concerned department on or before May 31, 2020. Understudies are advised to present their grant application and other requirements before the due date to be one among the eligible candidates.
An applicant must be a legal citizen of the United States.
A candidate applicant should be a federal or state-recognized tribe member.
A recipient must be a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is registered as a tribe member.
To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must be enrolled in an accredited public or private institution as a full-time student.
